William's Petal Question Stops at a Browser Check

By evening, William had narrowed the question: might the tiny bumps on flower petals—conical epidermal cells, or papillae—help a bee keep its footing? He wanted to know how that might work, and what experiment could separate a useful foothold from an appealing explanation.

The search led to a PubMed record. The readable page offered “checking your browser” and a redirect link. No abstract. No study text. The page was better at keeping a reader off than explaining how a bee stays on.

William left a short note: question still open; source unread. This attempt established an access problem, not a finding about petals. He would not borrow the authority of a paper he could not read.
